Prachanda's threat and local elections

Sunrise Khabar

Sunrise Khabar

Chairman of the Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) has once again threatened the country and the people. If his daughter Renu Dahal doesn’t win the mayoral election of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, the country will go into an accident.

The public meeting held by the ruling coalition in Bharatpur Metropolitan City was seen live through various media. We got to see and hear the threat of the leader of the ruling party Prachanda.

Although the Maoists have abandoned the armed people’s war, they have not abandoned the politics of violence. Due to the Maoists, people are still being displaced in different parts of the country. The Maoists are not Prachanda’s party alone. The Maoists, led by Mohan Vaidya, the Maoists led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav, the Maoists who have recently split from the Biplav, and several other Maoist groups have the same policy of threatening politics. Though the Prachanda-led Maoists have given up armed war, they have not given up the politics of violence. The Biplav-led party has also announced that it has given up armed struggle, but the party is still in power

The violent politics of the communists must end to bring development and prosperity. If there is violence in politics, no country can prosper. The Maoist communists do not want the country to move forward economically. They think that poor and uneducated people can be ruled.

The Maoists are now wreaking havoc across the country to influence local elections. In Rukum, Jajarkot, Bardiya, Kalikot, Humla and other districts, the Maoists are attacking the candidates and cadres of the rival parties. In Rukum, they have attacked the leaders and cadres of the ruling Nepali Congress, and many were injured. Elections held in such a violent environment cannot represent and reflect the real vote of the people.

Local level is the driving force of democracy. The local level can make a great contribution to the development of the country but due to the violent behavior of the Maoist communists the local level is not being as effective as it should be. In the upcoming local elections, the Nepali people should vote for peace and development.

Prachanda had threatened to start violence. Then the people voted to bring the Maoists into peaceful politics. Prachanda had a vision that Renu Dahal could also be elected as the mayor of Bharatpur through threat politics.

It is one thing to buy the votes of the people, it is whole lot different thing to win over them by intimidation. Buying and threatening voters with money is an unforgivable crime. Prachanda has repeatedly committed such crimes.

Maoists under the disguise of peaceful politics Nepali Congress and CPN-UML could not come together to eradicate the ongoing violence, terror, and atrocities. UML has to some extent endorsed the violent politics of the Maoists in the name of party unification. Isn’t the Congress also endorsing the politics of violence and terror of the Maoists in the name of alliance? The question has arisen.

To strengthen the democratic system in Nepal and bring development and prosperity, the violent politics of the communists must end. No country can develop if it lasts. Maoists

Local level is the driving force of democracy. The local level can make a great contribution to the development of the country but due to the violent behaviour of the Maoist communists the local level is not being as effective as it should be. In the upcoming local elections, the Nepali people should vote against violence and for peace and development. Ignoring the intimidation of Maoist communist leaders including Prachanda, the Nepali people need to vote in the election.
