Nepal made 7 records in one match in T20I

Kathmandu: In the 19th Asian Games, Nepal set a record by defeating newcomer Mongolia.

They lost the toss and batted first in the match at Zhejiang University of Technology in Hangzhou, China. After losing three wickets in 20 overs, Nepal scored 314 runs and bowled out Mongolia for 41 runs in 13.1 overs.

In this process, Nepal set at least 7 records in T20I cricket.

Record Score:

Nepal scored 314 runs after losing three wickets in 20 overs. This is the highest score in T20Is so far.

Previously, on February 23, 2019, Afghanistan scored 278/3 against Ireland, and on August 30, 2019, Czech Republic scored 278/4 against Turkey.

Highest Run Rate:

Nepal also set the record for the highest run rate. After scoring 314 runs against Mongolia, Nepal's run rate was 15.7. On February 23, 2019, Afghanistan scored 278/3 against Ireland at a run rate of 13.9.

Most Sixes:

On Wednesday, Nepal also set a record for the highest number of sixes. Nepali batsmen hit 26 sixes while amassing a score of 314 runs. This is a new record.

Previously, this record was held by the Czech Republic. Czech Republic batsmen hit 22 sixes while scoring 278 runs against Turkey on August 30, 2019.

Kushal's Record Century:

Kushal Malla also set a world record while scoring 314 runs against Mongolia. He made a record by scoring a century in just 34 balls, breaking David Miller's record of South Africa. Miller scored 100 off 35 balls against Bangladesh on October 29, 2017.

He remained unbeaten on 137 runs and ranked fifth in the list of cricketers who scored the most runs in a single innings in T20Is. Aaron Finch is number one with 172 runs.

A New Record for Ari:

During the match against Mongolia, Dipendra Singh Airi also set a world record.

He scored a fifty in just 9 balls, becoming the batsman who scored 50 runs in the fewest balls in T20Is. Previously, this record was held by Yuvraj Singh of India, who scored a half-century in 12 balls against England on September 19, 2007.

Airy's Record in Strike Rate as Well:

Another record was set in Ari's name on Wednesday: the highest strike rate. He scored 52 unbeaten runs in just 10 balls, achieving a strike rate of 520.00.

Previously, this record was held by Dwayne Smith of West Indies. On September 13, 2007, against Bangladesh, he scored 29 runs off just 7 balls at a strike rate of 414.28.

A Wide Margin of Victory:

Nepal defeated Mongolia by 273 runs. This is the largest margin of victory in T20Is. Previously, on August 30, 2019, Czech Republic defeated Turkey by 257 runs.
